Fret Wire install and Neck issues
Finally got some more mats and tools to continue to work, so i tried to install the neck with the neck plate to check if it fit well but when i 1st received the body it had several tools marks that left behind that kinda did not look good on the body and neck description “Professional build requires just light sanding”, light was a bit optimistic…
The neck fitted its pocket but the holes drilled on the neck and body off the guitar did not align on the neck pocket, basically the neck pocket was not fully routed, so basically the wall off the pocket was not straight witch cause the neck to go all the way back in to its place, some sections where not routed but one spot was actually over routed so i had to sand it until it got to its position.

Unfortunately the neck does not full sit down on its pocket, i believe the screws are forcing it to go up slight, so i have been passing a drill bit by hand on the holes so that the screws don’t make so much force on the neck wood pulling it up, i already started staining the some off the sections off the neck i did not stain so that it does not affect the neck fitting, so only later will see how the neck will fit or if i have to pass more times that drill bit.
I had to remove the stain that was on fret wire slots, also the top coats tend to grab any particles on air very easily while its still relatively fresh so the slots where in need off clean.
I did not measure how tall was the fret slots space so i order vintage size fret wires witch still leaves almost half off the fret slot height not occupied by the metal, lots off stuff to take in account when building a guitar.
I used the fret hammer that i used to inset the bridge inserts using also extra head off the hammer to do most off the hammering on the fret wire, the 1st hammering was done just with the hammer it self, hit the central section off the fret wire than grab the extra hammer head and use it between the wire and the hammer, gently that along the entire length off the wire, the spots around the edge are more hard since the fretboard is not a flat surface, its partially rounded.
The first wire, the neck is not virgin any more.
Several wires later on and some hammered fingers…
The fret wire size (bad photo…)
Some thing i already spotted about the headstock work, the holes are not precisely done, the specs say 8mm but the holes are not fully round and its size is not consistent witch means i am gonna have issues installing Grover locking tuners, they need 10mm holes but that is for the back section off the headstock, to be more exact 9.90 or 9.91 mil since they size is in imperial measure, so i need to wait to have the tools to do the cut on the back.
On the front the bushings are bellow 8mm in size witch means i need to fill that space a bit so it does move around.
Also need a better plier since i used a universal one to cut the fret wire and i can not cut more close to the neck with it, for that part off the build i will need to have appropriate tools.
