Page 13 - The Cursed Dark Rider
This guitar has a cursed origin. Initial i had won a eBay auction on used telecaster style neck, the plan on this guitar was keep the cost down.
Some how that neck got lost buy the shipping companies, Curse point one.
So i ordered a new unfinished neck.

The fretboard radius is very flat some where around 14 to 16 radius, the neck profile is Fat, very fat neck profile, the side dots are not perfect done.
The profile off the neck was reshaped to the neck profile off my first guitar.
Changed the lights for my room, so any indoor shots now look weird.

The bridge was aligned by the center drilling, the other drilling had to be filled and drilled since the body was not drilled for this bridge.
The Chapman pickups don't have threads for normal screws, so i attempted to make threads on them, but they did not hold up under the spring force. Curse point 2. So i had to fabricate a method to install the pickups and still have height adjustment. After some online research stumble on FU-Tone PMS and DIY version off this system. So i did my one DIY version. One aluminum plate on the bottom off the pickup that is mounted directed to the guitar body, so vibrations should be transferred better than installed on a pickup ring or scratch plate. The plate has threads for the screw and the nut on the top off the screw removes any issue with bad threads. On the neck i used foam since it was easier to reach optimal height than with the springs, the bridge uses springs that had to be cut to size, i had to experiment a bit to get it to the optimal size. The bridge uses springs also because the wires from both pickups need to passed to the control cavity.
The pickups where finally wired in.
The one string guitar, no more strings needed!
Neck was installed, oh wait where's the curse? Oh yes, "Not all wood is equal", never had broken a new screw on installed, i always used the screws to make the initial drilling point marks, drill with a drill with inferior size to the neck screws and final use the screws to bolt the neck.
So 2 screws installed and only 2 screws to go... crack! The screw head broke, i was using standard steel wood screws. Curse Point 3. Make it set neck i tough.... So removed the neck screw refilled the hole with other wood and lets install the screws. Oh wait, curse wright?! So the other screw broke, even worse to remove. Curse Point 4!
So lets refill the holes and install the neck screws.... nah lets set neck, lets glue this thing. The neck was also stained and satin finish like the 7 string Nazgul.

The frets where not leveled properly, so i had to level them, the truss rod is also after initial adjustment to give a bit off relief to the neck seems not to want to move. Curse point 5.
The scratch plate is gonna get some scratches. I saw some hand engraved scratch plates on ebay but none for this guitar, so lets experiment a bit.
Not exactly a master piece off artwork but its actual a lot off work to do. The plate was cut to allow install and removing without the neck removal, also the holes for the pickup in the scratch plate where enlarge to allow adjusting the neck height without removing the plate. The bridge pick ring was also modified to allow adjust the pickup height without removing the pickup ring.
While making the holes on the pickup rings, i used the drill stand but the drill bit locked in the pickup ring making it rotate on the drill, even at its lowest speed the power drill was to fast and since i had no way to secure the ring to the base off the drill stand i had to use my hand to hold it in place, but when the drill bit cough on the pickup ring and did the rotation i was hit buy the pickup ring on the thumb finger, the ring has not sharp edges, it was just the force off the blunt object hitting my hand was god dam painful for a couple off days. Curse point 6.
So Cursed guitar ready to plug in to the amp. No string buzzes, plays nice and the body vibrates extremely to the strings, plucking the strings one by one i noticed that the vibrations where being felt on the guitar body, not just on one point but the entire body. So the bridge pickup reacts a lot to any small string pluck, the guitar plays almost effortlessly, the neck pickup is not sharp, on the ML-2 i did not ever like it.
Another day and more thing discovered about this guitar, taping by accident one string the note song perfectly from the amp and hold up for long time and sided over the neck and the guitar still maned to keep the note alive perfectly just pressing the string down, so this guitar is more responsive and sensible than i tough, not bad for a collection of parts that mostly where laying around or not bought for this project in particularly.
